Mapathon Gogledd Cymru!

Yesterday (2026-10-14) we had our first mapathon (second mapping event) as a group in North Wales, featuring 7 mappers ranging from first time mappers to more experienced mappers. A special thank you goes out to Partneriaeth Ogwen who also kindly let us use Canolfan Cefnfaes. Diolch! ❤️ We also bought a box of Club Mate for the occasion as well!

In total the group made 2,471 changes (across 14 changeset), with Matt fixing a lot of paths across the Glyderau and Carneddau, Sasha fixing houses in Caernarfon (and paths in Austria!), Jo making improvements to the mapping around Gerlan, Lisa fixing some issues in Rachub, and finally Leena adding shops in Llanfairfechan and Bethesda! I was busy zooming around helping people that I wasn’t able to do anything myself, but I had a fabulous time!

Another thing we love to see: 5/14 changesets were made using Welsh language editors 🎉

We’re now planning the next mapathon, so stay tuned! (Maybe in Llanfairfechan a Monday in November 👀) If anyone has any idea or feedback let me know! 💚
