Croeso and welcome to the second edition of Welsh OSM Stats for OSM Nerds! I am stiill working on improving the format and the presentation, so if you have feedback please let me know! Compared to the 1st edition, this edition features changes from August in brackets! Note that numbers fluxate quite a bit from month to month, so the aren’t always the most useful metric. I will look into how to improve this in the future! 💚

North Wales Mapathon Gogledd Cymru

We are organising a mapathon in Bethesda on the 14th of October in Canolfan Cefnfaes. Interested in mapping or want to try something new? You don’t have to be an expert, it is mainly just for fun! Feel free to pop by, we will have panads ready! 🫖

Notes (Nodiadau)

At the beginning of the mount there was 1,184 open notes in Wales, and by the end of the month this had been reduced to 1,086 (a reduction of 98). This is the first time since 22 March 2019 that there has been less than 1,100 open notes in Wales :partying_face:

Churn stats

166 notes were opened this month (79 less than August). By the end of the month 67 remained open and 99 had been closed. 165 noters from previous months were closed (increase of 11 compared with August)

User stats

A total of 38 users opened notes in September (same as August). 30 anonymous notes were opened (two more), and 40 users helped resolve notes (increase of 6 since August).

Changesets

A total of 440,755 changes was made in September (increase of 32% since August) spread across 3,003 changesets (decrease of 18%). A total of 304 users made changes in September (decrease of 24%). The biggest reason for the reduction in number of changesets were the reduction in the number of StreetComplete quests that were completed.

Golygyddion Cymraeg (Welsh stats)

3 users submited changeset through an editor where the langauge was set to Welsh. The only two editors that had reported Welsh users were iD and StreetComplete. This represented 19.4% of changesets made using iD and 2.96% of changesets made using StreetComplete. JOSM also has Welsh support but no users made changsets with the Welsh locale. I suspect this will change in October though with StreetComplete being made available for IOS.

Users (Defnyddwyr)

304 made changes in Wales in September (decrease of 72). Of these, 75 made their first ever edit in Wales (decrease of 55). Of these 75, 16 made their very first OSM contribution in Wales (decrease of 7).
